vegetation, water quality, noise, open space, greenways, habitat, animal
communities, and human communities will be discussed. Presenters will share
proven strategies for successfully integrating increased wildlife habitat in
cities and towns.
The National Arbor Day Foundation is currently seeking information, topic
and speaker suggestions, examples/case studies, etc. If you would like to

2. CANADIAN NETWORK FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION -CALL FOR
PAPERS
July 18-20, 2001, Whitehorse, Yukon
Storytelling has always been important to northern peoples. And now the
narrative voice is being rediscovered. Today many practitioners and
researchers think of their work as "telling stories." The three conference
strands link themes central to the "northerness" of the conference location
and the teaching and learning of traditional forms of communication. The
three conference strands are: Environmental Education with a Northern
Flavour, Narrative: The stories we tell, and Research: What stories tell.
Deadline for proposals: March 1, 2001. For more information contact the
Canadian Journal of Environmental Education at: Yukon College, Box 2799,
Whitehorse, Yukon Y1A 5K4, FAX: 867 668-8828, EMAIL:
