SPECIAL NEWS BULLETIN

ABC News will carry a story this Friday June 29, 2001 by John Stossel. This
program will air as a one- hour special, titled "Tampering with Nature". The
story will evidently question the quality of education children receive with
respect to environmental issues.
Controversy has already arisen prior to the show's airing. Some California
parents complained that their children had been asked leading questions, and
that they had been misinformed about the nature of the interviews before
they gave their permission. According to a story in The Washington Post
(titled "ABC to Edit 'Tampering with Nature'"), ABC agreed to edit the story
to remove interviews with several California children after their parents
complained about the line of questioning by correspondent John Stossel.
