21. COMMENT ON DRAFT NCATE EE PROGRAM STANDARDS
Deadline: January 12, 2005
NAAEE needs your input!! NAAEE is an organizational member of National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and is in the process of developing environmental education program standards for NCATE. The writing team has met and drafted an initial standards framework. Now, the writing team needs to hear from you! Currently, NCATE has program standards in 20 different disciplines. In many states, the NCATE/state partnership agreement requires colleges and universities to address the NCATE program standards as part of the NCATE accreditation review process. Consequently, the development of NCATE EE Program Standards is an important effort for the environmental education community. These standards, when fully developed and approved, will impact environmental education in schools.
Please take the time to review the document and submit your comments by January 12, 2005.
This first draft is posted at http://naaee.org/projects/ncate_stds_feedback.pdf
