1. EPA REGION 7 HELP FOR EARTH DAY 2005
Proposals Due: March 18, 2005
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 is accepting proposals from local agencies, state agencies, environmental groups and not-for-profit organizations to help communities celebrate Earth Day 2005 and throughout the year in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Proposals should range from $500 to $2,500.

2. RADICAL RENOVATION: SCHOOL EDITION CONTEST
Application Deadline: April 7, 2005
Contest sponsored by Ford Motor Company and National Geographic Foundation for K-6 teachers nationwide to submit their students' vision of a sustainable, eco-friendly school. The winning class will receive $100,000 to implement their plan.

3. CAPCO SCIENCE CLASS CHALLENGE
Deadline: May 13, 2005
Participate in the CAPCO Science Class Challenge and win $500 to $5,000 for your school. For grades 4-9, the competition is meant to encourage students and teachers to learn about the Earth's protective upper ozone layer, CFCs, and the environment by using provided activities or their own creative methods. The contest is open to teachers with classes in grades 4-9. Teachers must be employed by a public or private school.

4. EARTHWATCH EDUCATOR FELLOWSHIP AWARDS
Education Awards awarded through a competitive application process, are considered based on available funding in the applicant's geographic region, financial need, and the benefits that would result from participating on an Earthwatch expedition. Decisions are made on applications beginning in January and ending when funds are exhausted, typically by late spring. Elementary, middle, and high school educators and administrators of any discipline are eligible to apply. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.

Environmental Education Association of Alabama (EEAA) 2005 conference them is “Down & Dirty: Back to the Basics in Environmental Education” and will be returning to Camp McDowell Environmental Center in Nauvoo, Alabama. 15. NPS AIR QUALITY WORKSHOP ~ TEXAS
March 29-30, 2005 ~ Dallas, Texas
Extended Deadline: February 28, 2005
National Park Service 2-day Workshop: Communicating Critical Air Resource Issues in National Parks. There’s still space and registration is now open to non-NPS employees. This workshop will focus on bringing air quality specialists and resource managers together with interpreters and educators to collaborate efforts on conveying complex air quality issues to the public. Experienced park interpreters, air quality educators, and research scientists will speak about important topics including climate change, ecological effects of air pollution, air quality and visibility, and the night sky.

19. WWF PENNIES FOR THE PLANET 2005
World Wildlife Fund is proud to announce the launch of Pennies for the Planet 2005--Protecting Big Cats!! Pennies is an educational and fundraising campaign that engages thousands of kids in conservation education and action every year. This year's program is focused on big cats. On the newly-designed Pennies Web site, kids can learn about big cats and the threats they face. They'll also find fun ideas for raising pennies to help the campaign's three target big cats: the highly endangered Amur leopard, snow leopard, and Sumatran tiger. Educators visiting the Web site will find educational activities to help teach their students about big cats, as well as information about collecting and sending in pennies.
