1. KODAK AMERICAN GREENWAY GRANTS
Deadline: June 1, 2005
Through a partnership of Eastman Kodak, The Conservation Fund, and the National Geographic Society, the Kodak American Greenways Awards Program provides small grants for the planning and design of greenways and support of grassroots greenways organizations in U.S. communities. 2. CAPCO CHALLENGE
Deadline: May 13, 2005
Participate in the CAPCO Science Class Challenge and win $500 to $5,000 for your school. For grades 4-9, the competition is meant to encourage students and teachers to learn about the Earth's protective upper ozone layer, CFCs, and the environment by using provided activities or their own creative methods. The contest is open to teachers with classes in grades 4-9. Teachers must be employed by a public or private school.

3rd World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC) - Educational Paths towards Sustainability is occurring in the first year of the United Nations "Worldwide Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD)", 2005-2014. WEEC objectives are the exchange of observations and best practices worldwide, development of main themes for the agenda on environmental education and discussion on conference presentations.

4. IEEIA WORKSHOP ~ ALASKA
JUNE 19 - 25, 2005 ~ Seward, Alaska

5. OLYMPIC PARK TEACHER TRAINING ~ WASHINGTON

6. GRADUATE PROGRAM AT TETON SCIENCE SCHOOL ~ WYOMING
Teton Science Schools (TSS), a nonprofit organization, connecting people to nature through education at four programming sites in Jackson, Wyoming. TSS is seeking applicants for the Professional Residency in Environmental Education (PREE) and Natural History Interpretation (NHI), a one-year graduate program. Program includes: - Graduate level courses in the natural sciences and education, - Practicum experiences in environmental education and interpretation in the classroom, field and community.

7. WORLD OCEAN DAY

The Ocean Project is coordinating efforts with the World Ocean Network to celebrate the 13th Annual World Ocean Day (WOD), June 8, 2005. WOD provides the opportunity to evaluate perspective, learn about ocean creatures and habitats, and ways to become a caretaker. Celebrate World Ocean Day by organizing or participating in activities that celebrate our world ocean that connects us all. 8. AUDUBON EXPEDITION INST. AT LESLEY U. ~ MASSACHUSETTS
Audubon Expedition Institute at Lesley University is accepting applications for its M.S. programs in Ecological Teaching and Learning, and Environmental Education. The 18-month M.S. in Ecological Teaching and Learning (begins July 2005) is for educators in schools and nonformal settings who want to enhance their ecological understanding and use their work site to apply their learning. The two-year M.S. in Environmental Education (begins September 2005) trains students to become self-motivated educational leaders in the environmental field.

9. FIELD STUDIES PROGRAM ~ HAWAII
August 4-9, 2005 ~ Hawai'i
Application Deadline: May 30, 2005
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Sanctuaries Field Studies Program in partnership with the National Geographic Society promotes the understanding of America's ocean treasures through first hand experiences. This year teacher/student pairs will be exploring Hawai'i's marine environment with the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary while staying on Coconut Island off O'ahu, Hawai'i. The field study will include snorkeling and fish identification on the coral reefs, studies of the local watershed, environmental monitoring and much more. National Geographic photographers will work with the students on photo documentation of their field experiences and the development of a youth media project.

10. MACHU PICCHU EXCURSION FOR STUDENTS

Seeking Blind & Able-Bodied Students for Machu Picchu Excursion. Join Erik Weihenmayer, the first blind man to summit Mount Everest, and Global Explorers' staff for a spectacular trek through the magical land of the Incas. This one-time-only 12-day experience will team blind, disabled and able-bodied high school students for an unparalleled leadership, teamwork, and learning adventure. A highlight will be a six day trek through lush mountains and ancient Inca ruins to Machu Picchu. 11. CARTOONIST HELPS GRASSROOTS EFFORTS IN SAVING SALMON CAMPAIGN
Cartoonist Denis Thomopoulos (hippoworks.com) created this cartoon from the perspective of several talking salmon to help with the efforts in saving the imperiled Northwest Salmon. Thomopoulos teamed up with Wildlife Works and Save Our Wild Salmon Coalition to create an online petition addressed to Congress and to sell t-shirts to raise money for wild salmon recovery efforts.

12. PEE WEE'S FAMILY IN A NUTSHELL

13. APPRENTICE ECOLOGIST PROGRAM
Apprentice Ecologist Program from the Nicodemus Wilderness Project designed for youth to get involved in protecting the wild lands and waters that sustain Earth's biodiversity and ecosystems by working together on wilderness stewardship and conservation efforts. Goal of program is to engage 1000 kids and young adults in the Apprentice Ecologist Program by 2006. Participants receive a signed official certificate and their story is published on the website.

16. NAAEE'S EE-LINK JOBS DATABASE GETS PRESS
The Wall Street Journal online Career Journal Job Blog: "Where to Find Jobs in Your Area on the Net." Article lists online jobs databases from museums to video games. 17. EPA HEALTHY SCHOOLS ASSESSMENT TOOL
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is developing an assessment tool to help school districts evaluate the environmental health and safety of school facilities. This tool is available for download for beta-testing and feedback is requested.

18. FLYING WILD
Flying WILD is a bird education offering for middle schools giving students the opportunity to learn through researching, planning, and hosting a school bird festival. Flying WILD is an initiative of the Council for Environmental Education (CEE) Project WILD program.

19. INT'L CONGRESS ON EDUCATION IN BOTANIC GARDENS ~ CFP
Submission Deadline: September 30, 2005
Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) Sixth International Congress on Education in Botanic Gardens, "The Nature of Success, Success for Nature": Sponsored by BGCI, the Congress will take place Sept. 10-14, 2006, in Oxford, England. Themes being addressed during the congress include achieving sustainability; public awareness of plants; reflection on practice; and working with challenging groups. Simultaneous translation into Spanish will be available.

20. KAEE ~ CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
Submission Deadline: June 1, 2005
Kentucky Association for Environmental Education (KAEE) announces the 2005 conference Call for Presentations. This years' theme is "Everything Under the Sun", September 9-11, 2005 in Prestonburg, Kentucky. Presentations focus should be on energy, natural resources and how non-formal and formal educators work together in and out of the classroom. Presentations should also include a paired non-formal and formal educator providing content to show classroom applications.
