1. ECOBUSSES AT WORLD EE CONGRESS ~ ITALY
Equipped for environmental education experiments and activities, this
caravan of Ecobusses are provided by the Natur und umweltschutz
Akademie, (NUA), the Academy for the Protection of Nature and
Environment. These mobile classrooms will be parked in front of the
Congress Center for interactive presentations during the 3rd World
Environmental Education Congress, "Educational Paths Toward
Sustainability" October 2-6, Torino, Italy.

2. FIELD ECOLOGY EDUCATION
CreekFarm is designed to bring together people world-wide who are
interested in nature and education. It's major project is a partnership
with Association Ecosystem (Russia) to develop on-line graduate level
courses focusing on teaching teachers about ecological field studies
with children. These Courses offered through Montana SU connected
teachers throughout the USA and Russia.

3. TODAY IS WORLD OCEAN DAY
The Ocean Project is coordinating efforts with the World Ocean Network
to celebrate the 13th Annual World Ocean Day (WOD), June 8, 2005. WOD
provides the opportunity to evaluate perspective, learn about ocean
creatures and habitats, and ways to become a caretaker. Celebrate World
Ocean Day by organizing or participating in activities that celebrate
our world ocean that connects us all.

4. INT'L CONFERENCE ON THE ENVIRONMENT ~ FLORIDA

11th International Interdisciplinary Conference on the Environment for
environmental practitioners, academics, students and all interested.
Consisting of concurrent sessions, round-table thematic discussions,

5. SUMMIT ON DIVERSITY IN THE EE FIELD ~ MICHIGAN
August 28-30, 2005 ~ Ann Arbor, Michigan
The Minority Environmental Leadership Development Initiative (MELDI) is
hosting "Summit on Diversity in the Environmental Field" at the
University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment.
Conference for students, leaders, and faculty of environmental
nonprofits, programs, government agencies, and other environmental
institutions to discuss the state of diversity in the environmental
field, how to enhance it, and focus on examining techniques of
introducing and implementing diversity practices.

6. WATERSHED TOURS FOR EDUCATORS ~ MONTANA
June 9-10 & 13-15: Sun River Watershed Tour
June 23-24 & 27-28: Headwaters to a Continent Tour
July 20-22: Milk Watershed Tour- Part II (Builds on Part I, 2004)
Montana Watercourse is offering three watershed tours designed to give
educators a comprehensive view of the watershed in which they live, and
provide the tools and activities to make that knowledge applicable. Each
tour includes professional speakers, site tours and classroom activity
suggestions. Presentations are correlated to activities that meet social
studies and science standards. All offer OPI renewal credits or
MSU-Bozeman (Sun & Headwaters) and MSU-Northern (Milk) graduate credits.
Reference materials, curriculum guides, maps, watershed info and more

9. PROMISE OF PLACE CONFERENCE ~ NEW HAMPSHIRE

3rd Promise of Place Conference: Place-based Education in the Northern
Forest is for educators, administrators, resource experts and policy
makers from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York, to gather in

10. APPLIED ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAM EVALUATION ~ ONLINE
September 12 - November 18, 2005 ~ Online
Deadline: August 12, 2005
This 10-week on-line course offered through the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point is designed to assist environmental educators
and natural resource professionals in evaluating their education
programs. Participants have the opportunity to develop and apply skills
in designing evaluation tools such as surveys, observation forms, and
interview and focus group guides. This course was developed as a
cooperative effort between the Environmental Education and Training
Partnership (EETAP) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) National Conservation Training
Center. Participants may obtain three undergraduate or graduate credits
from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. All participants,
regardless of location, are eligible for the in-state tuition rate. The
course is also offered as a non-credit workshop for those who are not
seeking college credit.

11. HEADLANDS INSTITUTE TEACHER TRAINING ~ CALIFORNIA

12. FUNDAMENTALS OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION ~ ONLINE

Deadline: August 12, 2005
A 10-week online course developed by the Environmental Education and
Training Partnership (EETAP) in collaboration with national EE experts
appropriate for both classroom teachers and non-formal educators who
work with students and/or teachers. It provides educators with the
knowledge and skills necessary to incorporate quality environmental
education into their instruction. Participants discuss the history,
definition, and goals of environmental education; develop an
understanding of the professional roles and instructional methods of
environmental educators; and interact with other educators from across
the country. 3 undergrad or grad credits from the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point or offered at a reduced cost for those not
interested in obtaining college credit. All students are eligible for
the in-state tuition rate.

16. NEW EE CLASSROOM LESSONS FROM EARTH DAY NETWORK
Environmental Jeopardy and Bobbie Bigfoot Sustainability Lessons Now
Available! Earth Day Network has just developed two new environmental
education resources for classroom use: Environmental Jeopardy and the
Bobbie Bigfoot Sustainability Lessons. Designed like the game show,
Environmental Jeopardy allows students to learn interactively about
issues in depth, with further opportunities to do research on the topics
covered. The Bobbie Bigfoot Sustainability Lessons are a collection of
over twenty lesson plans that accompany the Ecological Footprint Kid’s
Quiz website and are designed to inform students about the importance of
sustainability. Both resources are available for free to members of the
Teacher’s Corner.

17. WETMAAP: WETLAND EDUCATION THROUGH MAPS AND AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY
The WETMAAP Program develops workshops and supports a website for
educators that provide basic ecological concepts, technological skills
in the use of maps, aerial photography, and satellite imagery, and
methods of interpretation necessary for understanding and assessing
wetland and upland habitat change.

18. TEENS FOR PLANET EARTH
The Teens for Planet Earth website was developed by the Wildlife
Conservation Society (WCS) based at the Bronx Zoo. The website helps
teens learn more about the environment and conservation, and then apply

20. NORTHERN FOREST PARTNERSHIP GRANT PROGRAM

Grant program is a collaboration of the Northern Forest Center, the
North East State Foresters Association (NEFA) and the USDA Forest
Service. This competitive grant program is for Maine, New Hampshire, New
York, or Vermont community-based or local projects in 2005, promoting
diverse and sustainable economies built upon a well-managed forested
landscape. Awards will be up to $5,000 with a limited number up to $ 20,000.
