1. THE GUIDELINES FOR LEARNING: A RESOURCE YOU CAN USE!
Looking for a resource that can help you develop comprehensive and
cohesive environmental education programs? Well, look no further. The
National Project for Excellence in Environmental Education (NPEEE), an
initiative of NAAEE, has recently revised and reprinted Excellence in
Environmental Education – Guidelines for Learning (Pre K-12) and its
companion publications Excellence in Environmental Education –
Guidelines for Learning (Pre K-12) Executive Summary and Self Assessment
Tool.

The Learner Guidelines provide students, parents, educators,
administrators, and the public a common framework for promoting
environmental literacy. The Learner Guidelines support state and local
environmental education efforts by setting expectations for performance
and achievement in grades 4, 8, and 12. These Guidelines even
demonstrate how environmental education can be used to meet standards
set by traditional disciplines, while providing the students
opportunities to synthesize knowledge and experience across disciplines.

You can download the Learner Guidelines and other publications in the
Guidelines for Excellence series FREE of charge from the NAAEE website:
http://naaee.org/pages/npeee/
Order hard copies from NAAEE (member/non-member charges apply):
