On August 14, 2008, a new group of students will begin classes for the Master of Science in Environmental Studies with the Graduate School at Friends University, in Wichita, Kansas. Students will receive high quality instruction from environmental professionals who will engage them in real-life experiences through internships and projects. The program delivers a broad-based approach to local, regional, national, and global environmental issues. The courses cover studies in environmental history, economics and politics, environmental management, environmental health measures, energy and the environment, environmental biology, environmental geology, and environmental law. The Florida Master Naturalist Program is an adult environmental education program for adults developed by UF/IFAS. Three 40 hour teaching modules include; freshwater wetlands, coastal systems, and upland habitats. Students learn science based curriculum and interpretation skills in the classroom and in the field.
