City Year Fellowship
Applications are now being accepted for the Paul and Phyllis Fireman Public Service Fellowship, a year-long fellowship designed for graduates of MBA, MPP, MPA and other graduate programs, or those with comparable experience in the private, civic or governmental sectors who seek to make an impact in the nonprofit sector. From Sea to Summit
The video traces the entire hydrological cycle, using a mix of computer generated graphics and filmed footage to illustrate the process as water falls to earth in the form of precipitation, before filtering down through watersheds into urban and agricultural areas and finally flows out to sea, where it is eventually evaporated into the atmosphere to start the entire process over again.

Green Squad

The site is designed primarily for students in grades 5-8, but also offers information for younger & older students as well as parents & teachers. Available in English and Spanish.

Minnesota Report Card on Environmental Literacy
Over 80% of Minnesota adults consider the environment when voting. The Second Minnesota Report Card 2004, documents the results of the second statewide survey concerning environmental literacy of adults in Minnesota. This report card examines changes in the intervening period since the 2002 Minnesota Report Card, with results also compared to the national and Pennsylvania report cards. The Second Report Card addresses adults' knowledge about, attitudes toward, and behaviors related to the environment, with an emphasis on water issues.

The Video Project

Audubon Expedition Institute is accepting applications for the Summer 2003 start of its Ecological Teaching and Learning M.S. program in both the Northeastern U.S. and the Pacific Northwest. Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment, the new monthly journal from the Ecological Society of America (ESA) welcomes reviews and research communications on issues, advancements and innovations in ecology education at all levels in the formal, non-formal, or informal education sectors.

Fundamentals of Environmental Education ~ Online
September 12 - November 18, 2005 ~ Online Deadline: August 12, 2005 A 10-week online course developed by the Environmental Education and Training Partnership (EETAP) in collaboration with national EE experts appropriate for both classroom teachers and non-formal educators who work with students and/or teachers. It provides educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to incorporate quality environmental education into their instruction. Participants discuss the history, definition, and goals of environmental education; develop an understanding of the professional roles and instructional methods of environmental educators; and interact with other educators from across the country. 3 undergrad or grad credits from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point or offered at a reduced cost for those not interested in obtaining college credit. Raptors in the City
"Raptors in the City" is a new inquiry-based science and technology program for grades 4-6 that stars the peregrine falcon. The online portion of Raptors in the City guides children through nesting season (roughly February to June) as they watch the still rare falcons live via cameras mounted on skyscrapers.

Antarctic Meteorology Online
Visitors will find weather reports provided by the dozens of stations located in the Antarctic. Data is accessible by each specific station; by a clickable map; by a list of all land, ship, or buoy stations; or by an oracle database interface. Science.gov, a website gateway to science and technology information, is a collaboration of ten federal science agencies. Site provides government-funded research and science resources such as environment & environmental quality.

Two Wheel View is a youth and environmentally mission driven organization that uses the bicycle as a tool to create a "real life" experience for youth to learn lifetime skills.

California Environmental Education Interagency Network (CEEIN)
The California Environmental Education Interagency Network is a consortium of environmental educators representing California state departments, boards, and commissions with oversight responsibility to protect California's environment.

Global Environmental and Outdoor Education Council (GEOEC)
The Global Environmental and Outdoor Education Council (GEOEC) is a specialist Council of the Alberta Teachers' Association. Download lesson plans and access quality resources that you can use to teach about the environment, global interdependence, and sustainability.

Kentucky Environmental Education Council
KEEC facilitated input into a master plan for improving EE. It contains 20 recommendations that would result in improved environmental literacy in the next century. Improving environmental education in Kentucky would result no only in a better environment but also in better education for our children and a stronger economy in the long run.

Louisiana Office of Environmental Education
The mission of the Office of Environmental Education is to identify available environmental education resources to help Louisiana citizens make informed decisions and take responsible actions for protecting, managing and enhancing our state's unique environment.

North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources
The NCDENR Office of Environmental Education coordinates the EE Clearinghouse, which contains information and links on many EE related issues. Categories include: EE Centers, Environmental Information, Access to Environmental Data, Materials and Publications, Resources for Adults and General Public, EE Library Grants, News and Events, Professional Development, and EE Certification.

Pennsylvania Department of Education
The PA Department of Education approved curriculum standards for the Environment and Ecology in January 2002. These components incorporate the disciplines of ecology, resource management, agriculture diversity, government and the impact of human actions on natural systems.

Pine Jog
Pine Jog Environmental Education Center developed the Model Schools Program in 1995 in partnership with the Palm Beach County School District. The primary goal of the program is to improve student achievement by putting learning into a context with real world applications.

SEER - State Education and Environment Roundtable
SEER advances the EIC Model (using the Environment as an Integrating Context for learning). The model employs natural and socio-cultural environments as the context for learning while taking into account the "best practices" of successful inservice, preservice, formal and nonformal educators. SEER has initiated EIC Demonstration School Networks in 12 states. Their website give a description of some EIC Demonstration Schools.

The Environmental Education Fund
The Environmental Education Fund supports teacher training workshops and the North Carolina EE Certification Program, the biennial NC EE Conference, EE library collections, technology in classrooms, North Carolina Association of EE Centers, and other objectives of the North Carolina EE Plan.

Lehigh Earth Observatory's Envirosci Inquiry
EnviroSci Inquiry enables teachers, students, and the public to learn about environmental science content knowledge from Lehigh University LEO scientists and interns. Curricular activities emphasize student-directed scientific discovery of their local environment.
