Nonformal EE Programs - Guidelines for Excellence      
Nonformal Environmental Education Programs – Guidelines for Excellence comprises a set of recommendations for developing and administering high quality nonformal environmental education programs. The guidelines describe six key characteristics that can help guide the program development process: Needs Assessment, Organizational Needs and Capacities, Program Scope and Structure, Program Delivery Resources, Program Quality and Appropriateness, and Evaluation. Each key characteristic is supported by a series of guidelines and indicators that provide greater detail. In an effort to assure that the Nonformal Guidelines reflects a widely shared understanding of environmental education, a writing team comprised of environmental education professionals from a variety of backgrounds and organizational affiliations developed the document. Drafts were circulated widely and hundreds of comments were considered and incorporated.
