Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts is the newest and fastest-growing urban liberal arts college in New York—the most sought-after city in the world for college students. The New School offers two new areas of study focusing on the environment, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Studies. Environmental Studies focuses on three disciplines: science, urban studies, and design, and students will use New York City, one of the world’s largest urban ecosystems, as their laboratory.

SEER advances the EIC Model (using the Environment as an Integrating Context for learning). The model employs natural and socio-cultural environments as the context for learning while taking into account the "best practices" of successful inservice, preservice, formal and nonformal educators. This was created for Yosemite's Education office. It replaces a book that local teachers could use to take students on a field trip to the park.
