Fulbright Canada Awards    
Application Deadline: August 2, 2010

Fulbright Canada offers awards to students who want to study or conduct research in Canada for one year. Fulbright Canada also has a number of chair opportunities for American scholars conducting research in education, arts, and science, and environmental studies to spend one semester at one of Canada’s leading research universities or research centres. Fulbright Canada award recipients join the prestigious Fulbright network, a group made up of the best and brightest scholars from around the word. Fulbright Canada Chairs receive US $25,000 for one semester, a health benefit plan, a three-day all-expenses paid orientation in Ottawa, Canada’s capital, and they also may apply for additional mobility funding to participate in academic activities outside of their host region.

Professional Development Grant

Classroom Earth's Professional Development Grant allows teachers to take two online EE courses from the University of Wisconsin-Steven's Point. With these courses, teachers are better equipped to bring the environment into the classroom and connect students with their natural surroundings.

Fulbright Scholar Grants in Education in Europe    
Application Deadline: August 2, 2010

Applications for the 2011-12 academic year for the Fulbright Scholar awards in Europe in the field of education are being accepted. Applicants must be US citizens and hold a Ph.D. or appropriate professional/terminal degree at the time of application. Many "All Disciplines" awards are available in Europe as well.

Toshiba America Foundation Classroom Innovators Grants    
Deadline: August 1, 2010

Grants will be awarded to public and private (nonprofit) schools whose math and science teachers are designing innovative projects to make their classrooms more exciting and engaging.

Entertainment Software Association Foundation Applications    
Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded to nonprofits working to support programs and opportunities that use technology and/or computer and video games to make a positive difference in the lives of America's youth.

Intel Schools of Distinction Awards    
Deadline: February 17, 2010

The awards program is open to K-12 accredited U.S. schools that are publicly funded and/or nonprofit. To be considered, schools must develop an environment and curricula that meet or exceed benchmarks put forth by national mathematics and science content standards with at least three years of results data.

2010 Richard C. Bartlett Environmental Education Award    
Nomination Deadline: January 15, 2010

The Richard C. Bartlett Award is presented annually by the National Environmental Education Foundation to an outstanding teacher who has successfully integrated environmental education into his or her daily curriculum. The 2010 prize will be given to a high school teacher who can serve as an inspiration and model for both students and colleagues. The winner receives a $5,000 award and a trip to Washington DC. Toyota Tapestry Grants

The Toyota Tapestry Grants program offers grants to K-12 science teachers for innovative projects that will enhance science education during the 2010-11 school year. The program will award 50 large grants and a minimum of 20 mini-grants, totaling $550,000 in all, for projects in the categories of Physical Science Application, Environmental Science Education, and Integrating Literacy and Science.

Trip to Antarctica for Teachers Contest    
Deadline: September 4, 2009

Teachers can win a free trip to Antarctica this November with author and environmentalist, Robert Swan, aboard his International Antarctic Treaty Expedition (IATE), November 16-30, 2009. 4imprint is accepting applications for its one-by-one charitable giving program. The online and catalog promotional products retailer will award $500 in-kind grants to charitable organizations in the United States or Canada. Applications are due two months before the requested donation is needed. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, employed by or be a member of the board of directors of a 501(c)(3) organization, school, registered Canadian charity, society, or religious organization.

World of Children Awards Program    
Nomination Deadline: April 17, 2009

The 2009 World of Children Awards Program recognizes individuals who make a difference in the lives of children across the globe. Grants will be given to nonprofits associated with the honorees.

· The Humanitarian Award will provide a grant of up to $50,000 in recognition of an individual who has made a significant life-time contribution to children in the areas of social services, education, or humanitarian services.

· The Health Award will provide a grant of up to $50,000 in recognition of an individual who has made a significant lifetime contribution to children in the fields of health, medicine, or the sciences.

· The Founder's Youth Award will provide a grant of up to $25,000 in recognition of a young person under the age of 21 who is making extraordinary contributions to the lives of other children.

Elks National Foundation: Most Valuable Student Scholarship    
Application Process Begins: September 1, 2009

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated boys and girls in the competition. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and will be judged on financial need, leadership, and scholarship. Applications available online.

Cottonwood Foundation    
The Cottonwood Foundation offers small grants to local community organizations (including school-based groups) that use volunteer energies to protect the environment and promote cultural diversity. Cottonwood is interested primarily in funding that makes a difference for local community empowerment.

Target All-Around Scholarship Program    
Deadline: November 1st

Each year, Target awards scholarships for each Target store—to high school seniors and college students age 24 and younger. Scholarships recognize volunteer work as well as academic achievement, encouraging students to demonstrate that true enlightenment goes beyond what can be learned from textbooks.

Gannet Foundation Community Action Grants    
Grant applications are reviewed twice a year: February 16th or August 17th.

The Gannett Foundation Community Action Grants support local groups involved in education and neighborhood improvement, economic development, youth development, community problem-solving, assistance to disadvantaged people, environmental conservation, and cultural enrichment. 21st Century Museum Professionals Grants

This Institute of Museum and Library Services call for proposals is for museums, museum service organizations, and universities to submit grant proposals for projects designed to enhance the professional development of museum staff. Funding will support projects involving core management skills and/or projects that focus on collections care and management, interpretation, marketing and audience development, staff retention, visitor services, governance, and other areas of museum operations. Applicants may request from $15,000 to $500,000 each for a grant extending up to three years.

2009 NOAA Bay Watershed Education and Training Competition

The 2009 NOAA Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) grant competitions in New England, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific Northwest are open! NOAA B-WET provides grants in support of locally relevant experiential learning through meaningful watershed educational experiences in the K-12 environment. John W. Gardner Leadership Award ~ Call for Nominations

The John W. Gardner Leadership Award honors outstanding Americans who exemplify the leadership and the ideals of John W. Gardner (1912-2002), American statesman and founding chair of Independent Sector. Independent Sector presents the award each year to an individual whose leadership in or with the nonprofit community has been transformative and who has mobilized and unified people, institutions, or causes that improve people's lives.

Fund Supports Marine Conservation Work

The Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Ocean Fund supports marine conservation organizations working to preserve the world's oceans. National Geographic Society Teacher Grants    
The foundation provides grants to educators to facilitate their work in the classroom, school, district, and community. The Fulbright Scholar Program is offering 37 awards worldwide in environmental sciences for the 2005-2006 academic year. Awards for both faculty & professionals range from two months to an academic year. National Wildlife Refuge System’s new community-based environmental education initiative. The Common Sense Environmental Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit global wildlife conservation organization based in Washington, DC.
