The Third Minnesota Report Card on Environmental Literacy    
This is the third report card that takes the results of a random sample survey of 1,000 Minnesota adults, breaks the responses down demographically and compares them to related survey questions in studies performed in Minnesota, by other states, and nationally. Questions were on knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to the environment along with questions on energy and climate change.

Minnesota Community Waste Reduction Program Grant    
Deadline: March 16, 2007

Grant funding available for community-based waste reduction, toxicity reduction, and recycling projects! Community POWER (Partners on Waste Education and Reduction) is a project of the Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board that supports innovative, community-based approaches to waste reduction. $235,000 is available, supporting projects up to $12,000 each.

Minnesota Minerals Education Workshop

Workshop location: Duluth, MN



The Minnesota Minerals Education Workshop consists of a day-long series of classroom sessions followed by a day and a half-day of geology field trips and tours of mining operations. Topics covered include general geology, rock and mineral identification and mineland reclamation. Classes are taught by geologists, educators and minerals and mining industry professionals.

Minnesota EE Teacher Prep Project

Belwin Celebrates 35 Years Open House ~ Minnesota    
October 12-17, 2006 ~ Afton, Minnesota

Help Belwin and Saint Paul Public Schools celebrate their 35-year partnership by attending this open house. Belwin, a non-profit organization, is one of the largest remaining undeveloped tracts of land in the Twin Cities and works collaboratively with St Paul Public School's (SPPS) Valley Branch ELC in offering an outdoor educational center for 10,000 students each year.

Long Lake Conservation Center    
"Minnesota's original environmental learning center, accredited by the North Central Association as a special function school. Its 760 acre peat bog, pine forest, and lakefront campus, located two hours North of the Twin Cities, hosts groups of all ages year round" and offers a summer camp for 10-17 year olds.

Adopt-a-River Program    
"The Adopt-a-River Program encourages Minnesota volunteers to "adopt" a section of a lake or river to ensure its long-term health through annual cleanups. Minnesota Report Card on Environmental Literacy    
Over 80% of Minnesota adults consider the environment when voting. The Second Minnesota Report Card 2004, documents the results of the second statewide survey concerning environmental literacy of adults in Minnesota. This report card examines changes in the intervening period since the 2002 Minnesota Report Card, with results also compared to the national and Pennsylvania report cards. The Second Report Card addresses adults' knowledge about, attitudes toward, and behaviors related to the environment, with an emphasis on water issues.
