RE: [eec] Tach driver for '99+ COP EECs??



Richard,
I think some tacho's (late model) are designed to take a square wave from
the ecu. So depending on the tacho you have there are a couple of solutions.
I'm assuming you have the more common tach triggered from the negative side
of the coil.
If you can find a square wave tach output you can connect this to the coil
of an ordinary automotive relay and this will generate the neccessary
flyback that the tacho requires to work. We have done this on our Orbital
engine powered Ford Festiva's.
